Making cat5e Ethernet cables is an absolute joy with this tool! My daughter insisted on using a wired connection from her gaming desktop to our router located two rooms away down a long hallway. I purchased 200 feet reel of cat5 cabling and tried using the harder method of stripping the end of the cables and needling each one of those very thin wires through the teeny holes in the plastic data plug connectors. It drove me absolutely insane causing me to rage quit the project. After some googling I discovered this Klein pass through stripper and crimper and I nearly cried. Without hesitation I ordered it from Amazon. The tool is extremely easy to use and is self contained with a cutter to trim your cable and a stripper to remove the rubber outer jacket with precision and ease. The tool itself has a color coded guide that tells you the order in which the tiny wires fit through the plastic connectors. Once you have them straightened out and in the proper order, they slide effortlessly into the connector and the Klein tool will crimp the connectors onto the end of the wires. Works PERFECTLY. I enjoyed it so much that I asked everyone in the family and some friend if they needed Ethernet cables. You can make your cables as long as you want them which is awesome when you’re trying to minimize wires for a clean look behind your devices. I can’t say enough about this tool. Get it. You won’t regret it!!!

While there are cheaper options of this tool available they are not anywhere near as good as this. Clean cuts, easy to use and the number of times I’ve dropped it without it breaking is a huge plus

Clean cut all the time especially when used with Klein tools pass through RJ45. Very quick and easy. I personally apply 3 presses but honestly just one firm press and you’re done!You might get the wires on the ends of the connector not cut fully if you are not using Klein tools RJ45 connectors. I have used the Cablecreation RJ45 pass through and the blade would not be able to cut the edge wires fully, they would be hanging on by a very small sleeve of insulation but just a little pull on it would remove it and it wouldn’t affect the reliability of the cable.

I tried to use an older crimper to make some gigabit ethernet cables with some old ends. That was absolutely the worst idea. It was frustrating. I gave up and ordered pass through ends and tried my old crimper. That didn’t work well becuase the ends were not getting cut off. I ordered this crimper and my life became immediately better. With the pass through connectors I was able to terminate a cable in about five minutes. With this connector I was able to have the perfect crimp and cut of the ends. It was worth the money!

My puppy chewed the end of a cat6 cable and I didn’t want to buy a new cable that would have cost more for the length I had run.

This is the only network tool that I need, love that I crimps all standard network cables and the newer pass through types. Love the built in wire cutters and cable stripper. But one thing that I found really valuable was the CAT5 diagrams printed on the side. Ergonomics are really good. Great tool

I’ve been running CAT6 cable in my home for faster connection speeds and enhanced security.I started by running 100’ cables and just using cable tiles to manage the excess cable. That quickly grew old and I wanted cable just the right length and not have to see mounds of excess cable at my server cabinet or find I was just sort by a few feet for longer runs.I purchased the Kline VDV226-110 Ratcheting Modular Data Cable Crimper and VDV526-052 Cable Tester to be able to crimp my own cable and ID which cables were coming from the different rooms and ensure the connections were sound.Pros:- Save money by using only the amount of cable you need.- Always have the right size cable length for the job.- No need to have 1’, 2’, 10’, 25’, 100’, cables on hand, just make the cable to the length you need.Cons:- Using the cable crimper takes practice.- Small upfront cost but it quickly paid for itself.Summary:Kline makes great equipment. It was worth the small investment to have tools that work again and again.

I bought one of these for one of my techs just to try it out, he loved it so I borrowed it to make a cat6Jumper & it is freaking awesome. I was surprised , I’ve been crimping Ethernet cables for 25 years & these are the best crimpers I have ever used for Ethernet connections. I will probably buy 2 more for spares.I’ve used Klein electrical tools for almost 40 years & they are the best bar none so I should not have been surprised when this crisper worked so well.
